SUBJECT: Judicial Bench Cards: Child Support and the Judiciary

The federal Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) developed the subject bench cards in conjunction with the National Judicial – Child Support Enforcement Task Force as an update to the 1990’s OCSE publication Child Support and the Courts.

This electronic material, entitled Child Support and the Judiciary, is targeted for judicial officials and intended to provide them with basic information on child support-related subjects. Each module is intended to be a stand alone unit. Consequently, each contains basic information on the subject matter identified along with embedded links to more detailed information and resources.

The Child Support and the Judiciary publication contains the following information:

The material was pilot tested with a national group of judges/judicial officers and lead child support attorneys from multiple states/tribes. Those participating represented a wide geographical range and experience level in handling child support cases. We hope that you find it useful. Future electronic bench cards will address topics such as domestic violence and safe pursuit of child support
