Fee for Processing FPLS Cases FY 1996

RE:  FY 1996 FEE FOR CASES PROCESSED BY FPLS

Dear Colleague:

In accordance with Action Transmittal (OCSE-AT-93-01), dated Janauary 26, 1993, this letter is to inform you of the fee-per-case cost for processing non-AFDC IV-D, locate only and parental kidnapping/child custody cases processed by the Federal Parent Locator Service (FPLS) for Fiscal Year 1996 commencing October 1,1995 through September 30, 1996.  As outlined in the Acting Transmittal, FPLS will calculate the quarterly cost for services requested by each State and advise each State of the appropriate cost for the quarter via the quarterly invoice.

With more States moving to automation, we expect to receive a higher volume of cases for FY 1996 which will allow us to lower the charges for FPLS cases.  The new fee for FY 1996 for processing non-AFDC, locate only and parental kidnapping and child custody cases is $0.45/per case.  The effective date of this new charge is October 1, 1995.
