ACTION TRANSMITTAL

AT-13-03

DATE:  July 15, 2013

TO: State Agencies Administering Child Support Enforcement Plans under the Title IV-D of the Social Security Act and Other Interested Parties

SUBJECT: Distribution of Federally Approved National Medical Support Notice – Part B

Attachment: National Medical Support Notice

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has granted the Department of Labor an extension for the National Medical Support Notice (NMSN) - Part B, “Medical Support Notice to the Plan Administrator,” (OMB control number: 1210-0113).  The new expiration date for NMSN Part B is March 31, 2016.  The purpose of this AT is to distribute the revised NMSN Part B, which had expired.  The revisions to this form were conforming changes to synchronize the data elements to the NMSN Part A.

OCSE is currently in the process of synchronizing the expiration date for the NMSN Part A so that it will be the same as the NMSN Part B.  It will be distributed once OMB approval has been granted.  Tribal IV-D agencies are not required to use these forms.

Sincerely,

Vicki Turetsky
Commissioner
Office of Child Support Enforcement
