This matrix provides information about state use of direct deposit and debit cards to disburse child support to custodial families. Information includes whether the state mandates electronic disbursement and state points of contact. Disbursing child support by direct deposit to the custodial party’s account or by loading a debit card with the child support payment is cheaper, faster, safer, and more accurate than mailing paper checks.
