RE: Medical Support Collaboration Meetings Summary

Dear Colleague:

In 2006, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) hosted two meetings attended by Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), Child Support Enforcement, Tribal Child Support Enforcement, and Child Welfare State directors to collaborate on increasing medical support for children and Medicaid cost savings. At these meetings, each State developed a plan of action to address identified issues and to assess progress in implementing their plans of action developed at the 2005 meetings. Federal regional offices are working with the States to implement their action plans. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and ACF are committed to investigating issues that might require action at the Federal level.

Enclosed is the summary of the meetings. It includes the State action plans in addition to summaries of both meetings.
