ad hoc Technical Assistance Leveraging Workgroup

The ED/HHS ad hoc Technical Assistance Leveraging Workgroup was formed in 2012 to increase the efficiency of technical assistance (TA) delivered to States and grantees that impact children birth through age eight and their families.  The workgroup will collaboratively work to develop strategies to reduce and avoid duplication of funding, resources and effort. To this end, the cross-agency Workgroup will regularly meet to conduct strategic planning and resource sharing activities.

Workgroup members include the designated technical assistance leads and/or federal project officers for federal TA contracts/projects including:

For 2013, the Workgroup will focus specifically on cross-sector collaborative TA. The Workgroup will examine and highlight ways that states can leverage the various TA resources funded by ED and HHS – at both the state and program levels. The Workgroup has planned the following activities, as well:

  • Session proposals on federal cross-agency TA submitted for the 2013 NAEYC Annual Conference and the DEC Annual Conference
  • Creation of a flowchart (or schematic) of how a cross-agency TA request from a state could look on the local level.
  • Joint webinars (e.g. QRIS and children with special needs)
