ACF and FBCI

Welcome to the Administration for Children and Families' web page on the Faith-Based and Community Initiative (FBCI).

President George W. Bush's Faith-Based and Community Initiative represents a new approach to government's role in helping those in need. President Bush, through Executive Orders, established the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and the eleven Department Centers for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives to support the essential work that faith-based and community organizations do in our communities.

The goal of this office and these centers is to help grassroots organizations compete equally for federal dollars and face fewer bureaucratic barriers.
