Abstinence Education Division

The focus of abstinence education is educating young people and creating an environment within communities that supports teen decisions to pospone sexual activity until marriage. It is a primary prevention approach driven by the high rates of teen pregnancy and birth, the prevalence of sexually transmitted infections and other adverse outcomes associated with sexual activity.
