FVPSA Tribal Domestic Violence Services, 2011

The Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) is the primary federal funding source dedicated to providing immediate shelter and supportive services for victims of family violence, domestic violence, or dating violence and their dependents. Ten percent of the Federal budget allocation for FVPSA is set aside for Tribes. Of the $129,792,00 allocated to FVPSA in 2011, $12,979,190 in FVPSA formula grants were distributed based on population to 238 Tribes in 27 states.
