All applicants are asked to submit a resume in a specific format to ensure timely processing.
To complete this step,
- First, make sure you know which job codes from Step 2 you would like to add to your resume.
- Next, view the resume format below and prepare your resume in a separate Word document using this format.

Resume Format
1. Name and Contact Information
Name: appropriate salutation Mr./Mrs./Ms./Miss/Dr.
Home: address; phone, fax & cell numbers; email address
Work: name of organizations, titles, addresses, phone & fax numbers, email addresses
2. Preferences

3. Job Codes from Step 2 (use as many or as few that apply)
(e.g., FYSB-001, CB-007)
4. Primary Functions (use as many or as few that apply)
Select from a list of primary functions to describe all your CURRENT occupational functions (paid or volunteer). Every function should include a brief explanation.
Example: I am the Administrator of an adoption agency. I am also a Program Evaluator for an adoption program. I am also a Researcher for private grant-funded research in the area of drug-affected children.

5. Fields of Expertise (use as many or as few that apply)
Select from the fields of expertise to describe your academic or professional background.
6. Education
List your college and post-graduate degrees, starting with the highest. Also list the institutions where the degrees were obtained and the years the degrees were received. You may indicate if you have earned “all but your dissertation.”
Include all majors or disciplines.
7. Grant Reviewing Experience
Describe your experiences in grant reviewing, listed from most recent to least recent. To the best of your knowledge, include dates, location, type of review (federal or non-federal), agency, duties, and topic. Write “I am a new reviewer” if you have never reviewed before.
If you are between the ages of 19-24 and are currently enrolled in an institution of higher learning (at least a sophomore status), please write, "I am a young adult reviewer."
8. Professional Work Experience Relevant to Program-Related Topics
Describe your relevant experience (paid or volunteer), listed from most recent to least recent. Include name and location of organization, position or titles, years or dates of experience, and a summary of your responsibilities and accomplishments.
9. Publications Relevant to Program-Related Topics
Write "Not applicable" if you do not have any publications.
10. Other Work or Volunteer Experience (please be concise)
Include dates, name and location of organization, and position or title. When applicable, include a brief statement of any program-related accomplishments (e.g., With $30,000 in start-up costs, my floral shop employed 6 young adults from a community-service program to distribute an in-state retail catalog.)
11. Licenses, Certifications, and Affiliations
List from most recent to least recent and include related information (e.g., school, city, year).
12. Two Professional References
When possible, include a government reference from a recent grant review.
