What the Affordable Care Act (ACA) means for Children, Families, and Child Care Providers

Beginning in 2014, families receiving assistance for child care through the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) program as well as child care providers and their families may qualify for health insurance coverage. Reaching children early and informing families of available comprehensive health services help support children’s learning and developmental potential.  The new Health Insurance Marketplace is the place to find information about how to apply for coverage, including Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
