Disasters not only can create a greater need for child care assistance, but also can substantially impact the child care provider community causing damage and destruction of child care centers and family child care homes. These are significant challenges for States and localities struggling to provide services to families and rebuild critical infrastructure in their communities after a disaster. OCC is committed to providing technical assistance to help our grantees become better prepared to meet these challenges and to support the continuity of early care and education services after a disaster.
