Tools for AFI Program Management

Focus:

This call is the second of a four-part series on performance management. Listeners will learn about the AFI Performance Management Initiative in general and about initial targets OCS and grantees have established for a number of fundamental indicators. Speakers will highlight a several tools designed to assist AFI project staff with using data and indicators to strengthen their projects and improve outcomes. These tools will include a target calculator and project flow charts.

The third and fourth calls in the series, to be presented in September and October, will offer listeners templates for work plans that incorporate performance management principles and a number special tools and documents to assist grantees with adjusting their projects to the new AFI targets and responding to changing circumstances. Presenters will help grantees think through strategies to achieve intermediary targets on their way to reaching overall outcomes.

OCS strongly encourages grantees to particpate in all four parts of the call series. Those who complete all parts will be included in a capstone experience at the November AFI grantee conference and will be recognized for their achievement.

During each of the calls in the series, listeners will hear from grantees and others who are using performance management strategies to enhance project outcomes in key areas such as outreach and recruitment, savings activity, training, and asset purchases.
