Highlights

The District 7 Human Resources Development Council is offering 118 IDAs: 45 for homeownership, 41 for post-secondary education, and 32 for microenterprise.  The match rate is $2 to $1, up to $2,000 in participant savings over 36 months.  Beyond core training, services include employment, child care, medical care, crisis management, mentoring and peer support.  Participants also get help applying for energy assistance.
 

Target Population

Twenty-eight county area of eastern Montana, including three American Indian Reservations.
 

Grantee/Collaborative Description

The District 7 Human Resources Development Council is a Community Action Agency.  Partners include the District 6 Human Resources Development Council and Action for Eastern Montana.  The nonfederal match comes from financial institutions and the United Way.  Financial institution partners include First Interstate Bank, Stockman Bank of Montana, USBank, Community First Bank, and Fergus County Federal Credit Union.
