Transmittal No. 92

Date: November 28, 2005

To:
  Indian Tribes and Tribal Organizations
Subject:
Director of the Office of Community Services (OCS)
Purpose:
To inform Indian Tribes and Tribal Organizations of the New Director of the Office of Community Services

On April 1, 2005 we sent out Information Memorandum #84 which spells out the requirements for the development of your Fiscal Year 2006 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Program Plan. When we received the funding applications, we realized that many of the Tribes and Tribal Organizations were not aware of the newly appointed Director of the Office of Community Services, thus had not made the necessary changes on the plan.

The attached biographical information will serve as an introduction to Mrs. Josephine Bias Robinson, who was appointed as the Director of the Office of Community Services (OCS) on March 15, 2005. Mrs. Robinson is very committed to the successful operation and success of OCS and the CSBG program.

Please update your records with the new director's information and send your future correspondence to the attention of Mrs. Robinson or Dr. Margaret Washnitzer, Director of State Assistance, Office of Community Services. Also make a note that all CSBG plans are due on or before the September 1 st deadline. According to 45 CFR Part 96.42(e) "After the September 1 deadline, tribal applications will be accepted only with the concurrence of the State (or States) in which the tribe or tribal organization is located."

Thank you for your cooperation.
