Termination of LIHEAP Mailings
THIS CONTAINS INFORMATION ISSUED BY THE U.S. ADMINISTRATION FOR
CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN LIHEAP INFORMATION MEMORANDUM TRANSMITTAL
NO. LIHEAP-IM-2007-5, DATED 7/6/07
TO: LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LIHEAP)
GRANTEES AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES
SUBJECT: Termination of LIHEAP Mailings
RELATED
REFERENCES: The Revised Continuing Appropriations Resolution,
2007 (Public Law 110-5); the Low-Income Home
Energy Assistance Act, Title XXVI of the Omnibus
Budget Reconciliation Act of 1981 (Public Law 97-
35), as amended.
PURPOSE: To advise grantees that the Division of Energy
Assistance will no longer mail out Action
Transmittals (ATs) and Information Memoranda (IMs)
on a regular basis, and that all information
dissemination to LIHEAP grantees will occur on the
LIHEAP web site.
CONTENT: The issuance of LIHEAP ATs and IMs has always
been the primary mode in which the Division of
Energy Assistance has communicated deadlines and
other important information about the LIHEAP
program to its grantees. While we will continue
to issue IMs and ATs, we will no longer mail out
hard copies of these transmittals beginning in FY
2008.
For some time, we have posted our IMs and ATs to
the LIHEAP web site and will continue to do so.
Grantees are strongly encouraged to regularly
check the LIHEAP web site for new guidance, and
to download IMs, ATs and any attachments that
they wish to have copies. This is particularly
important with respect to annual grantee
submissions, such as the carryover report,
grantee survey, and household report, in which
due dates are specified.
The LIHEAP web site address is printed at the
top of this IM.
