    The Tribal Manual

    The original LIHEAP Information Manual was developed in 1983 by a task force group that included program and financial staff from Indian tribes and federal staff from HHS.  Its purpose is to provide tribes with specific information about LIHEAP.  The content of this manual is the result of contact with many tribal LIHEAP staff throughout the United State to seek ideas and examples of how their programs are run.  HHS is now updating this manual to reflect current program requirements.
