An Information Memoranda (IM) provides guidance to assist in implementing the CSBG legislation, program instruction and policy clarification, in addition to disseminating information and program practices to stakeholders.

August 3, 2012Summary of the Planned Use of Funds by States and Eligible Entities
In FY 2006, States planned to use CSBG funds to provide resources for direct services or assistance to individuals and families participating in eligible entities’ programs. In most instances, the largest categories of CSBG expenditures were emergency services and linkages programs. Uses of CSBG funds are reflected in the data tables contained in this report (Tables 1-3).

A network of 1,070 CSBG eligible entities, of which 87% were Community Action Agencies (CAAs), was active in 99% of U.S. counties;
The local CSBG network’s funding from all sources totaled over $11.2 billion;
