Organizational Description

The National Association for State Community Services Programs (NASCSP) is the national membership association for State Administrators of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program.  NASCSP supports the leadership role of States in preventing and reducing poverty and empowering low-income families to become self-sufficient.

Use(s) of Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Program Funds

During this one-year supplement to their existing project, NASCSP will (1) assess the CSBG Network’s current benefits enrollment and coordination activities; (2) assess the CSBG Network’s asset development activities; and (3) identify and disseminate exemplary practices in both benefits enrollment and asset development.

Expected Outcomes

Exemplary practices in the areas of asset development and benefits enrollment and coordination activities will be disseminated via national presentations, national webinars, and reports.  NASCSP will provide training and technical assistance to the CSBG Network so that the next several years will show a measurable increase in its asset development activities as reported through the “Economic Asset Utilization” National Performance Indicators of Results Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA).  A foundation will be established for the assessment of benefits enrollment and coordination activities within the network.  The CSBG network will show a measurable increase in benefits enrollment and coordination activities over the next several years.
