Organizational Description: Beech Acres Parenting Center has served children and families in Greater Cincinnati for 160 years. With a mission of Strengthening Families for Children, Beech Acres Parenting Center’s programs are based on the guiding principle that parents, and other dedicated adults filling that role, all want the best for their children, and all need education, support and guidance in raising their children to achieve their unique potential. Beech Acres Parenting Center connects parents to resources, tools and support, peers and experts so they can enhance their parenting knowledge, skills and capabilities.
Use(s) of ACF Grant Funds: Grant funds will be used to increase awareness of the value of marriage and provide meaningful and effective opportunities for person who choose marriage or committed cohabitation to strengthen their relationships, thereby directly improving the potential outcomes for their children. Grantee will also incorporate case management, supportive services and job and career advancement in order to increase the ability to address the issues and barriers facing target populations. Several curriculums will be used including Love U2, PREP, Within Our Reach, Within My Reach, How to Avoid Marrying a Jerk, Beech Acres Families in Conflict, 12 Conversations for Mentoring Couples, etc.

Organizational Description: Center for Self-Sufficiency Inc. (CFSS), is a non-profit organization with 14 years of experience in developing, operating and evaluating programs to strengthen families in the areas of healthy marriage and relationship education, teen pregnancy, workforce development and welfare reform.
Use(s) of ACF Grant Funds: ACF funds will be used to provide the following services: AA II: Relationship education using the evidence-based curriculum Love U2: Relationship Smarts PLUS to high school youth; AA III and AA IV: marriage and relationship education to individuals and couples using the PREP-Within My Reach curriculum, AA V and AA VII: marriage and relationship education for married couples using PREP-Within Our Reach. Other services provided will be training and job placement for ex-offenders and other individuals, relationship education for incarcerated individuals and case management.

Organizational Description: CMB was founded in 1998 after a United Way Needs Assessment revealed that the number one problem facing our community was the break-down of the traditional two-parent family. In response, a dedicated group of church and community leaders formed CMB, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, to work within the community to build and strengthen marriages.
Use(s) of ACF Grant Funds: Allowable Activity III: CMB will use ACF funds to provide skills-based marriage and relationship education, along with financial literacy and career advancement services to low-income individuals, parenting couples, and single parents. CMB will use Strengthening Families Program curriculum to support project activities under Allowable Activity III.
Allowable Activity IV: CMB will use ACF funds to provide skills based marriage and relationship education to individuals and/or couples preparing for marriage. CMB will use the following curricula to support project activities under Allowable Activity IV: PAIRS and P.I.C.K. (Premarital Interpersonal Choices and Knowledge) a Partner
Allowable Activity V: CMB will provide skills based marriage and relationship education to married couples looking to achieve greater levels of intimacy. CMB will use the following curricula to support project activities under Allowable Activity V: PAIRS, Marriage LINKS (Lasting Intimacy through Nurturing Knowledge and Skills) and the 8 Habits of a Successful Marriage.
Allowable Activity VI: CMB will help stepparents move from the brink of divorce through skills based marriage and relationship education. CMB will use The Stepfamily Foundation Life Series to support project activities under Allowable Activity VI.

Organizational Description: Elizabeth’s New Life Center (ENLC) is a 501(c)(3) faith-based organization that specializes in the development and implementation of new and innovative programs addressing the issue facing fragile families. Established in 1989, Elizabeth’s New Life Center has delivered marriage education services in Southwest Ohio.
Use(s) of ACF Grant Funds: Elizabeth’s New Life Center’s (ENLC) Marriage Works! Ohio collaborative will utilize skill-based curricula in a broad based community intervention to promote marriage and healthy relationships in order to increase the number of two-parent, healthy married families, workforce ready individuals, and parents with improved parenting skills with corresponding reductions in the rate of co-habitation, divorces, out-of-wedlock childbirths, domestic violence, and child maltreatment.
Marriage Works! Ohio will offer comprehensive educational services that will include marriage and relationship education for high school students, engaged and married couples, as well as parenting education and job and career advancement services.

Organizational Description: The Fathers and Families Resource/Research Center, Inc., is a 501(c)(3), community-based agency, with two facility locations in Indianapolis/Marion County, Indiana. FFC is recognized locally and nationally for strong work in the areas of fatherhood (6,000 fathers served since 1993), workforce development, healthy marriage, ex-offender re-entry, and child welfare. FFC’s mission is to build a noble legacy of fatherhood – improving the life chances of children by assisting fathers in achieving self-sufficiency and in strengthening parental involvement. FFC’s commitment to the well-being of children has garnered FFC’s selection for several national efforts: the Partners for Fragile Families (PFF) Demonstration Project, Welfare to Work, the Quality Improvement Center for Non-Resident Fathers (QIC-NRF), and a DOL beneficiary-choice initiative for ex-offenders.
Use(s) of ACF Grant Funds: ACF funds will be used to: provide marriage and relationship education using PREP-Within My Reach for single individuals and PREP-Within Our Reach for couples. Job readiness training, GED preparation and testing, financial management classes, advanced training referrals, job placement and retention assistance, case management and supportive services. Additionally, ex-offender participants who complete FFC’s healthy marriage curriculum and job readiness training will be afforded subsidized employment through a transitional jobs partnership with the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office of Offender Re-Entry.

In addition, Operation Keepsake aims to help students understand the importance of managing their personal finances. The following curricula will be used to support project activities under (AA II): Love Doesn’t Have a Dark Side. Prepare/Enrich/Inspire for teens, and Money Habitudes.

Organizational Description: Toledo Area Ministries (TAM) has been in continuous existence since 1886 and has grown to become the largest and oldest ecumenical organization in Ohio. TAM’s services are made up of nine core programs which are designed to address specific needs in the Community. These nine programs are: Managed Care Advocacy (senior health care), Coalition for Quality Education (public school reform), Food Stamp Outreach (SNAP enrollment), TAM Clearinghouse (intensive case management and referrals), Toledo Urban Missions (services for at-risk youth), House My People (housing), Suitably Attired (work clothing and employability services) and Feed Your Neighbor Ministry (14 food distribution locations and emergency supplies), and Second Chance (services for victims of sex trafficking and prostitution).
Use(s) of ACF Grant Funds: ACF funds will be used to: help individuals and couples of all ages with communication skills, awareness of the components of healthy relationships, empathy and emotional understanding, conflict resolution, problem solving skills, knowledge of the benefits of marriage, affection and intimacy, expression and discussion of negotiation skills, self-esteem building and assertiveness, financial management, stress and anger management and parenting skills. Intensive case management and employment services will also be provided. The following curricula will be used to support project activities: Basic Training for Couples and Nurturing Parenting.
