Acting Director, Office of Head Start
In her role as Acting Director of the Office of Head Start, Ann Linehan leads the critical mission of preparing the nation’s most vulnerable children for success in school and life.
Ann Linehan has dedicated her career to ensuring all children receive enriching educational experiences. She has held senior management positions with the Office of Head Start for 15 years and has served as the Deputy Director since 2011. Among Ann’s many accomplishments are the successful rollout of Early Head Start, the improvement of program monitoring systems, and the implementation of risk mitigation strategies to improve program performance and increase accountability. She has been an integral player in the work to strengthen Head Start, creating an even better birth-to-five experience for low-income parents and their children.
Ann has undergraduate degrees in sociology and psychology and a master’s in education from Boston State.
