This bar graph demonstrates the comparative quality rating scores of Early Head Start centers, community centers, and family child care locations when children were 14 months, 24 months, and 36 months. EHS centers and community centers used the Infant-Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS) at 14 and 24 months and the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised (ECERS-R) at 36 months. Family child care locations used the Family Day Care Rating Scale (FDCRS) at each time point. EHS centers received average scores of 5.0 at 14 months, 5.2 at 24 months, and 5.1 at 36 months. Community centers scored on average lower than EHS centers at each time period but consistently improved, scoring 3.8 at 14 months, 4.5 at 24 months, and 4.9 at 36 months. Family child care locations scored the lowest of the three groups each time, scoring an average of 3.4 at 14 months, and 3.9 at 24 and 36 months, respectively.
