Percentage of Children in Fair or Poor Health, by Race/Ethnicity

This clustered column graph shows the percentage of Hispanic, African American, and White children in fair or poor health at 14, 24, and 36 months. At 14 months, 26.5 percent of Hispanic children, 15.8 percent of African American children, and 17.2 percent of White children were in fair or poor health. At 24 months, 19.7 percent of Hispanic children, 11.5 percent of African American children, and 9.7 percent of White children were in fair or poor health. At 36 months, 11.7 percent of Hispanic children, 7.1 percent of African American children, and 6.9 percent of White children were in fair or poor health. Parent interviews completed when children were approximately 14, 24, and 36 months old.
