Head Start's 10th National Research Conference — Research on Young Children and Families: Launching the Next Decade for Policy and Practice

The 10th National Head Start Research Conference recognized the third decade of Head Start research conferences and 45 years of Head Start contributions to the Nation. The theme of the 10th conference was sharing and using evidence of effective policies and practices for child development and families. Key presentations emphasized the increased significance of environment for children in poverty; emotion regulation; the evolution of early childhood education; the role of the brain, mind, and interpersonal relationships on the cultivation of well-being; effective early childhood classroom instruction; and professional development International perspectives on early childhood were also highlighted.
