Acknowledgments
This report would not have been possible without the commitment and cooperation of the staff and families at the Head Start programs in both the 1997 and 2000 cohorts of FACES. Staff responded thoughtfully to interviews, welcomed us into their classrooms, and helped us to arrange interviews with families and assessments with children. We are also grateful to the Head Start families who patiently met with us and provided insights into their time with Head Start and beyond. The report also benefited from the advice and comments of the members of the Head Start Quality Research Centers Consortium, who served as technical advisers to the study and provided valuable feedback on earlier drafts of this report.
