The primary objective of Project LAUNCH (Linking Actions for Unmet Needs in Children’s Health) is to promote the social, emotional, behavioral, and physical health and cognitive development of young children from birth to 8 years of age. Under a federal grant program administered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Project LAUNCH grantees work to reach the objective through five core strategies: developmental assessment; integration of behavioral health into primary care settings; home visiting; mental health consultation; and family strengthening and parent skills training. This report presents key findings from 24 grantees’ first year of implementation.
