Overview

The National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG) is a survey of U.S. men and women of reproductive age conducted periodically by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). The survey provides national estimates concerning factors related to fertility, family planning, marriage, divorce, and parenthood, including fatherhood. NCHS has conducted cycles of the NSFG since 1973.

This project was related to the design for Cycle 6 of the NSFG, including sample design, data collection procedures, questionnaire content, and dissemination strategies. Cycle 6 included about 12,500 interviews, with about 4,900 males and 7,600 females and was the first NSFG cycle to include males.

The project period was 7/29/02–9/30/03.
