10th Annual ACF/OPRE Welfare Research & Evaluation Conference

“A Decade of Findings that Inform Welfare Policy and Practice”

The Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation (OPRE) in the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services held the Tenth Annual Welfare Research and Evaluation Conference on June 4-6, 2007 in Washington, DC.

Goals of the Conference

The conference continues to maintain its tradition of providing a forum for welfare researchers, State administrators, and Federal officials to discuss the latest findings in evaluations of welfare programs and policies, strategize about ways to incorporate evaluation results into the design and implementation of these programs and policies, and develop effective strategies to ensure their continued sound evaluation. The conference will maintain its tradition of providing a forum for the dissemination of expert and timely research relevant to welfare programs and policies.

The theme for the Tenth Annual Conference, “A Decade of Findings that Inform Welfare Policy and Practice,” was chosen to emphasize key lessons and challenges from the past that will guide welfare policy makers and practitioners in the future.
