Additional information:  The Alliance for North Texas Healthy Marriage and Effective Marriages (ANTHEM) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization with experience providing Healthy Marriage services throughout the Dallas community.  ANTHEM developed relationships in the Hispanic community to serve over 5,000 Spanish-speaking families through workshops, effectively advertising through Spanish billboards, radio, TV and print.  This grantee’s allowable/authorized activities are:  public advertising campaigns on the value of marriage and the skills needed to increase marital stability and health; education in high schools on the value of marriage, relationship skills and budgeting; marriage education, marriage skills, and relationship skills programs, that may include parenting skills, financial management, conflict resolution and job and career advancement; pre-marital education and marriage skills training; and marriage enhancement and marriage skills training programs for married couples.  They will use funds to implement a unique 3-tiered project that offers a broad array of healthy marriage and relationship services designed to address family needs. This collaboration is with a wide group of community partners who will provide project participants with additional activities and resources that promote job and career advancement.  The following curricula will be used to support project activities:  Active Relationships, PICK, Powerful Single Parent Wisdom. Scream Free Parenting, Money Habitudes, Strength Training and Keeping Faith.

Additional information:  The El Paso Center for Children is a non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure that every child has a safe home, a stable family and a chance to grow to a healthy adulthood. From 1995 to 2006 the center served as the lead agency in a multi-agency collaborative called El Paso Families: Together and Safe. They offer a variety of services geared towards serving families.  This grantee’s allowable/authorized activities are:  marriage education and marriage/relationship skills that may include parenting skills, financial management, conflict resolution, and job and career advancement. The focus under this allowable activity will be low-income Hispanic married couples. Marriage education and skills training will be provided using the PREP: Within Our Reach curriculum which is designed for work with low-income couples. Other services include assessment of employment readiness, development of individualized career advancement plans and referrals to job preparation or vocations skills training and job search assistance.  They will use funds to provide marriage education and skills training classes, job readiness assessments, development of career plans, assistance with employment services, case management and supportive services.

Additional information:  The Parenting Center (TPC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.  Established in 1975, TPC has 36 years of successful experience executing and managing federal, state, and local government grants and collaborating with key area agencies. The agency employs 23 staff members who provide administration, community education, marriage programs and counseling services.  This grantee’s allowable/authorized activities are:  public advertising campaigns on the value of marriage and the skills needed to increase marital stability and health; marriage education, marriage skills, and relationship skills programs that may include parenting skills, financial management, conflict resolution, and job and career advancement; pre-marital education and marriage skills training for engaged couples and for couples interested in marriage; and marriage enhancement and marriage skills training programs for married couples.  The Empowering Families Project (EFP) will provide a broad array of voluntary, community-centered services designed to promote healthy marriage. The project will combine marriage and relationship skills training with a robust effort to address marriage and relationship skills and the economic needs of participants, including employment services for those who demonstrate economic need or lack employment.  The target population will include low-income parents and families, those on or at-risk of going on TANF, and refugees living in Tarrant County, TX.  Within Tarrant County, the most critical need to be addressed by The Empowering Families Project is the lack of marriage and relationship skills as evidenced by the high divorce rate within the county. The Empowering Families Project will provide comprehensive services that address various family needs, including services designed to improve marriage and relationship skills, as well as job and career advancement activities to promote economic stability and self-sufficiency.

The No Kidding program, our current RF program, addresses the issue of teenage pregnancy and parenthood, Youth Partnership for Change focuses on underage drinking, and the Urban Roots program uses sustainable agriculture as a means to increase access to healthy food. YouthLaunch's No Kidding program engages a team of teen parents as peer educators to deliver presentations to middle and high school students about the realities of young parenthood. The peer educators empower their peers delay becoming parents until they are financially and emotionally prepared for the responsibility, and in a committed relationship. The peer educators however are the focus of this program. As leaders and mentors in the program, the young parents gain valuable skills and confidence to lead successful, impactful lives.

Additional information:  The purpose of Education Service Center (ESC)-Region 19 is to aid teachers and administrators in the EI Paso area in their role as educators. One of twenty regional service centers located throughout the state that function as a link between the districts and charter schools and the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the administrative unit of Texas' public education system. ESCs provide professional development in areas such as technology, bilingual education, special education, gifted and talented education, and programs for at-risk students. They offer technical assistance and support in areas such as data processing and instructional media. ESCs also provide field-based regional services to school districts. The Parent Involvement program coordinates activities for parents, parent coordinators/educators, teachers, counselors, administrators and others who work with parents including those of children with special needs to promote parental involvement at school and at home. ACF Program Description: The Education Service Center - Region 19 is the grantee agency for the Head Start Program in EI Paso and Hudspeth counties.
