2014 Community Initiative for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention (Focus on Butanese Refugees)

The purpose of this conference is to create awareness among Bhutanese refugees on suicide prevention and enhance mental health services, initiate community based involvement to identify health needs and set priorities that can reduce the gap of services. The conference will have a panel of discussion by the community leaders followed by presentation from the experts: on refugee health among Bhutanese in PA, mental health services, ORR, and SAMSHA, Health and Human Resources, Department of State. The outcome of the conference is to educate, share experiences/ideas among Community leaders and refugee stakeholders on how to reduce the incidence of suicide among refugees and suicide prevention in general.
