North Carolina Refugee Conference
“Bright New Day” is the theme for the 2013 NC Refugee Conference. Contracted service providers, local and national refugee resettlement agencies, key federal officials, governmental and community partners and refugees will join together for presentations on a wide range of issues. The conference will provide opportunities to meet and interact with professional colleagues, refugees from throughout the state and NC Government leaders. Music, stories and readings by refugee artists will be featured at this event.
Plenary speakers and workshop presenters will address topics to include employment, immigration, English language training, mental health and financial development. Creating a bright “Brand New Day” for all refugees and highlighting the possibilities of their new life in North Carolina will be the emphasis of all events at the conference.
This conference is hosted by NC Dept. of Health and Human Services Division of Social Services/Economic and Family Services Refugee Program. For more information email Lynne.Little@dhhs.nc.gov
