1.    Census Data for Refugee Resettlement Stakeholders:
By Ally Burleson-Gibson, Data Dissemination Specialist
Philadelphia Regional Office -U.S. Census Bureau

Join us for a review of Census Bureau statistics and data tools pertinent to the refugee community and those who serve them.  Whether you are writing a grant, conducting a needs assessment, or creating new programs, Census data is a valuable resource.  Learn how to find and use the data you need!
Our training will focus on a specific population (Congolese) and a community (Amarillo, TX) to highlight key data pieces available from the most recent censuses and surveys. We will also provide a brief demonstration of the most popular tools available on census.gov to assist you in finding and using data effectively.

2.    Introduction to new eLearning Tools
By Rebecca Armstrong/ Lorel Donaghey (HIGHER/Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service)

Learn about Higher’s new eLearning tools to support refugee employment.  The electronic tools include training topics for front-line employment staff as well as a series on workforce readiness to prepare refugees for employment in the U.S.  Designed to be used independently or in a group setting, Higher will introduce the resources and give information on how to sign-up for access to their new learning management system.  Higher is a program of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and serves as ORR’s training and technical assistance provider on refugee employment.
