Phoenix World Refugee Day: Celebrating Many Cultures – One Community

The Phoenix World Refugee Day event will bring together refugees and local community members to celebrate the accomplishments of refugees.  The festival will feature local refugee entertainment; cultural foods by refugee owned restaurants and speeches by Phoenix City officials, Charles Shipman, State Refugee Coordinator, and refugees. Information about refugee serving agencies will be available and an opportunity for a free phone call to a refugee’s home country will also be offered. The festival is free and open to the public, and is hosted by the American Red Cross, Grand Canyon Chapter.
