In this webinar, hosted by The Center for Victims of Torture’s National Capacity Building Project, participants will learn a framework for guiding your board towards the 'right' work and supporting them in more effective ways. This webinar offers some practical tools to strengthen boards so that they can focus on governance and oversight, become better equipped to understand and set policy, and be responsible for overall organizational and financial health of torture rehabilitation agencies.

Participants will come away with:

  • practical techniques to maximize board effectiveness, while also improving the board experience for board members
  • ways to insure that boards focus on the right things, (rather than those that might feel easier or more appealing... !)
  • a sample board agenda illustrating a new way of organizing time spent at board meetings
  • right from the beginning... a sample board orientation agenda

This webinar is specifically for the SoT programs The Center  for Victims of Torture work with but it will be recorded and the recording will be available on HealTorture.org for any organization that is interested in accessing it.
