Please join us for the State Refugee Office’s next Quarterly Consultation meeting on Wednesday, September 3rd from 1 - 3 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, Wisconsin and will feature a panel presentation focusing on Congolese refugees.

The presentation is open to the public and the following topics will be included:

  • Basic information about the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the situation that caused the refugee crisis
  • Congolese communities in the state (including family size, family composition, ethnicity, languages spoken)
  • Educational background
  • Gender roles
  • Employment background and skills
  • Health care system in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and refugee camps; traditional health beliefs and practices

The presentation will also include a Question and Answer session with the audience.
