In order to raise awareness of refugee resettlement programs in California, the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) celebrates June 20th as World Refugee Day. On this day, the Refugee Programs Bureau (RPB) within CDSS will host multiple resource tables in the lobby of the CDSS headquarters providing CDSS staff and visitors information on California’s refugee resettlement program, such as fact sheets, educational resources, and cultural artifacts. The RPB will also be hosting short-films to be viewed from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Lastly, the RPB will also, in conjunction with Café 744 located on the 1st floor of CDSS, host an ‘ethnic’ food daily lunch special. During the ‘ethnic’ food daily lunch special, a large display poster/flier will be viewable and educational materials, such as fact sheets will be available for patrons to take with them.
