SUBJECT: Asylee Information Hotline

This Letter announces the availability of a National Asylee Information and Referral Hotline effective Monday, July 2, 2001. The hours of the referral line are from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. E.D.T., Monday through Fiday. The number is 1-800-354-0365. This hotline is managed by Catholic Charities of New York through a Cmmunity and Strengthening and Integration (CFSI) grant awarded to the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC). Services will be provided in seven languages: English, Mandarin-Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, Albanian, and Amharic. Staff can also speak 11 other languages--Haitian Creole, Polish, Macedonian, Serbo-Croatian, Arabic, Turkish, Bosnian, Italian, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi--bringing the total languages available to 18.

The success of this information and referral line depends on information available to the operators.
