PARIS Transmittal 2013-10: August Federal File Pay Errors

The re-run of the PARIS Federal file that your state received after September 12, 2013 used the new ZD9 format.  This has caused the “Gross Pay” and “Basic Salary’ fields to display as (00113590{. ).  This is causing the dollar amounts to be displayed in 9 total characters with the last character converted to a positive or negative number 0-9 depending on the conversion codes.  In this Example the “{“ represents a positive number and the last character is a zero.  DMDC is trouble shooting the problem and will re-run the Federal file using the standard D9.2 format.  Until the file can be corrected, do not process the Federal file.
