Rhode Island Child Support Conference
On Thursday, May 31, 2012, Vicki Turetsky, Commissioner of the Office of Child Support Enforcement, delivered the keynote address at the 8th Annual Rhode Island Office of Child Support Services Conference in Warwick, RI. Her remarks touched on the evolution of the child support program as a result of the U.S. Commission on Interstate Child Support and the changing expectations of political decision-makers and customers. Conference participants included a high number of family court and community partners. Conference presenters discussed topics including same sex/civil union issues, child support guidelines, international child support and Rhode Island's continued strong collection performance despite having the second highest state unemployment rate in the U.S.
