Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Families Conference Call Series 2013

Presenter(s): Ulysses “Butch” Slaughter
Shawty Lo and The Degrees of Family Captivity
Ulysses "Butch" Slaughter, Founder of The Odyssey Project, was part of a national strategic coalition that recently forced Oxygen Network to cancel a reality project called "All My Babies Mamas." The effort required the formulation of an urgent, coherent core message and a socio-tech apparatus capable of channeling the message. For Mr. Slaughter, this effort wasn’t about destroying a reality show. This effort was about defending the integrity of fatherhood.
This presentation will utilize several of Mr. Slaughter’s human development designs including “Integrated Communication” to illustrate how individuals and groups can restore strong fatherhood models in families, organizations and communities.
Who Should Participate?
ACF Region III Grantees (Head Start, Child Care, Child Support Enforcement, TANF, Child Welfare, Runaway and Homeless Youth); faith-based and community organizations; local and state stakeholders and all other interested parties.
