Fatherhood Initiative

Region III Head Start/Fatherhood Advisory Purpose

  • The 18-member advisory committee is comprised of two (2) Head Start grantees from each state and one (1) father recommended by each state Head Start Association. The purpose of the advisory committee is to provide direction and strategic input to the ACF Regional Office in effort to strengthen Fatherhood/Male Involvement efforts with Head Start grantees within the region.

    Preliminary purposes of the advisory are:

    • Serve as the conduit between ACF Regional Office and State Head Start Associations on Fatherhood in an effort to strengthen male involvement efforts regionally.
    • Serve as state hubs/leaders to facilitate male involvement in all Head Start programs.
    • Provide leadership in the planning and implementation of Regional/local Head Start Fatherhood workshops/trainings.
