Providing Coordinated Human Services to Refugees and Immigrants through Specialized Service Units
The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is pleased to announce a Webinar on “Providing Coordinated Human Services to Refugees and Immigrants through Specialized Service Units” scheduled for Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. EDT.
This free Webinar will provide an opportunity to hear about specialized service units which are collaborations between ORR and refugee and immigrant serving programs and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs designed to improve placements and services for low-income refugees and immigrants. Tom Medina from the Washington Department of Social and Health Services, Economic Services Administration, Office of Refugee and Immigrant Services will present on Washington’s service delivery model and partner agencies, highlight available services to low-income refugees and immigrants including TANF, English as a Second Language, job training, case management and many more essential services. The Webinar will emphasize lessons learned for effectively facilitating partnerships and reducing barriers to ORR and refugee and immigrant program collaboration with TANF, workforce development, and other agencies.
