ACF Region 6 Keynotes the BIG HHS Agency Forum

The national organization of Blacks In Government (BIG) hosted its 35th National Training Institute on August 19-22, 2013, in Dallas, TX.  The theme for this year's conference was "Strategizing and Strengthening Government Leadership in the Global Economy."

In partnership with BIG, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) conducted an agency forum on August 20, 2013, at the Hotel Anatole, in Dallas, TX.  Agency Forums are annual meetings that bring together senior leaders and staff to discuss important Operating Division and/or Department-wide matters.  Leon R. McCowan (pictured here), Regional Administrator, ACF Region 6, presented the keynote address on "Leadership Strategies in the Global Economy".

BIG is a national response to the need for African Americans in public service to organize around issues of mutual concern and to use their collective strength to address workplace and community issues.  BIG's goals are to promote EQUITY in all aspects of American life, EXCELLENCE in public service, and OPPORTUNITY for all Americans.
