Carolyn B. Meier Named Federal Employee of the Year
On March 27th, the Dallas-Fort Worth Federal Executive Board presented Carolyn B. Meier, Deputy Regional Administrator, ACF Region 6, with the Nancy H. Doherty Special Achievement Award/Federal Employee of the Year! The award is presented to one employee every year for their exceptional “long-term” accomplishments in service on the job and in the community.
Carolyn has exemplary vision, successful leadership, and strategic thinking. Her efforts give many children, families, and communities access to services and resources that improve their well‐being and quality of life. For ACF, she builds coalitions, with limited resources, to tackle complex issues and achieve strategic results. She advances ACF’s use of new technology and successfully carries out national priorities to benefit children and families in the states and tribes of Region 6.
Carolyn’s enthusiasm and dedication to public service is reflected in her community, where she lives and volunteers her time. She serves as a volunteer in churches, mosques, and other community non-profits, and is most proud of her long term role as a Big Sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas, mentoring children since 2004. She recognizes the needs of vulnerable populations through enhancing the linkages of services/suppliers and networks at all levels, including:
- increasing the understanding of the importance of the Federal government’s role in communities
- improving the capacity of Federal employees to deliver quality service and technical assistance to grantees and communities for the economic and social well‐being for families, children and individuals
- reducing duplication of efforts, increasing accountability for limited resources, and promoting coordinated strategic plans of action to meet the specific needs of each community
For these reasons and many more, Carolyn B. Meier is so deserving of this award that recognizes professional and personal contributions that reflect favorably on Public Service and the Federal Workforce. Congratulations, Carolyn.
