Health Literacy Institute (EHS/HS)
The Region VIII Training and Technical Assistance Network and the National Center on Health (NCH) will provide a 2-day Health Literacy Institute for grantees. This event will include interactive practice opportunity, action planning, and follow‐up with participants.
Topics covered at the training include:
- how health is a foundation of school readiness;
- fostering a culture of health, safety, and wellness for children, families, staff and communities;
- building and maintaining a systemic approach and effective collaboration for improved health and well-being for Head Start programs, families and communities; and
- using effective family engagement and partnerships in achieving and maintaining the health and well-being of Head Start children.
The NCH Health Literacy Institute is designed for a team of 2‐3 key staff from each program: Health Managers, Family Services Managers, and Directors.
