This November, during National Youth Homelessness Outreach, Prevention, and Education Month, or Youth HOPE Month, we would like to reflect on the many accomplishments of community-based organizations in serving young people experiencing homelessness and/or housing instability.
November is Youth Homelessness, Outreach, Prevention, and Education (HOPE) Month
National Youth HOPE Month shines a light on the plight of the nearly 4.2 million young people in the U.S. who experience homelessness or run away each year. Behind each statistic is a young person facing struggles with housing instability, mental health, family dynamics, or systemic inequalities, often without much-needed support or safety.
This month-long campaign seeks to illuminate their experiences, amplify their voices, and enhance community understanding. Through events, resources, and action-oriented programs, National Youth HOPE Month encourages everyone to learn, advocate, and join in the mission to provide all youth with the hope, resilience, and opportunities they need for a brighter future.
Together, we can work toward a world where no young person has to face these challenges alone.
