Nancy Thoma is the Regional Administrator for the Administration for Children and Families, Region 7. She provides administrative oversight and program coordination to ensure the agencies’ goals, objectives and plans are pursued effectively in partnership with the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, and the Tribes located within these borders.
Ms. Thoma formerly served ACF Region 7 as the Regional Program Manager for the Office of Child Support. Since joining ACF in 2003, Ms. Thoma has been involved in a variety of national projects including facilitating strategic planning workgroups, leading collaboration meetings among State, Tribal and Federal CSE, Medicaid, CHIP, and Child Welfare program officials, and building partnerships with a wide range of federal, state, tribal and community organizations to improve the well-being of children and families. She is a nationally requested public speaker on children and family topics.
Ms. Thoma began her career in human services with the state of Iowa in 1979 where she held casework, managerial and leadership positions across the array of human services programs. From 1999 through 2003, Nancy served as the Director of the State of Iowa’s Child Support program.
Ms. Thoma is a mother, a grandmother, and a tireless advocate for all children.
