Today, the Administration of Children and Families (ACF) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced awards totaling $9.85 million in Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) funding to support 39 new competitive discretionary grants.

Today, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced $24,500,000 in new awards to 34 tribes and tribal organizations to implement culturally grounded, evidence-based home visiting programs throughout the nation. These grants are part of the Tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program, which supports and promotes the health and well-being of American Indian and Alaska Native expectant families and families with young children. 

Today, the Biden-Harris administration, through the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), released three new rules that will have a profound impact on child welfare in America.  The three rules will support kinship caregivers, protect LGBTQI+ children in foster care, and expand access to legal representation for children and families in the child welfare system. Together, they will help child welfare agencies fulfill their mission of putting children first. The rules fulfill executive orders by President Biden and align with the administration’s priorities to keep families together and increase equity in the child welfare system. Together, the rules represent one of the most substantial advances in child welfare in a generation.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) awarded $20 million to launch the first-ever National Center for Child Welfare Competent Mental Health Services (the Center). As part of HHS’ Roadmap for Behavioral Health Integration , this investment is one of many ways that ACF is working to answer the Biden Harris Administration’s call to transform the delivery of mental health care in the U.S.

Today, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the award of $8.1 million to fund the third cohort of grant recipients of the diaper distribution demonstration and research pilot program, bringing the total funding to $24.3 million since the program’s inception in September 2022. 

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded $3.9 million to the child support agency in Minnesota to assess equity within the child support program. The demonstration project, Advancing Equity in Child Support, will also help other child support programs examine their own policies and practices.  By building equitable child support policies and practices that treat everyone with fairness, children and families have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

This new division reflects the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to using technology to improve customer experience and service delivery for the American people.

The Administration for Native Americans (ANA) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families will invest over $2.6 million in Native communities through its Native American Language Preservation and Maintenance and Native American Language Preservation and Maintenance — Esther Martinez Immersion (EMI) programs.
