Second Chances: Tools to Support Reentry

American Indians, Alaska Natives and Pacific Islanders are incarcerated at disproportionately high rates and are often removed from their communities in which they could gain culturally appropriate services. April is Second Chance Month, and the Administration for Native Americans in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services and the Arizona Supreme Court would like to highlight the resources available to Native communities for the creation of impactful reentry programs. Topics that will be covered include:
- Probation programming
- Improvement of sentencing to include
· Probation terms
· Reduce probation periods and requirements
· Increase connections to needed services
