ACF's Region 4 Office is preparing for its 2nd Annual Latino Summit in Atlanta, Georgia, Monday, Sept. 21. We want to continue to open the doors of communication with the community and provide information on resources to help them grow to success.

The event will bring grassroots organizations, community leaders and experts from across the region (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee) to discuss the growing population of Latinos in the area and how ACF can contribute to a successful future for the community. It will also allow participants the opportunity to discuss challenges and explore possible solutions to benefit the community.

Another goal of the summit is to inform organizations, agencies and faith-based partners about federal resources and services available to them and for the community to build partnership with other federal organizations.

Information received from the community partners will also provide insight to Regional Administrator Carlis V. Williams and other ACF programs within the region on issues impacting the Latino community in areas of children, families and challenges or issues with access to services with our programs.

General Sessions will focus on:

  • Increasing awareness of the Latino Community from their prospective
  • Disparities in Latino Children and Families
  • Access to Services
  • Focus on Preventive Services
  • Community-based programs for building, sustaining and strengthening healthy communities
